Jesper Koch: Chamber Music 1

Jesper Koch is one of the younger composers on the contemporary Danish music scene. A pupil of Ib Nřrholm, Karl Ĺge Rasmussen, Olav Anton Thommessen, Andy Pape and Colin Matthews, he has already distinguished himself as the recipient of several scholarships and awards.

Aldubáran commissioned “Funérailles” (1997) on the CD featuring Řssur Bćk, violin, Páll Sólstein, horn and Jóhannes Andreasen, piano.

The title here alludes to the eponymous piece from Liszt’s Harmonies poétiques et réligieuses, conceived primarly as a response to Chopin’s death in 1849.
