Andras Olsen started playing the trombone at the age of 13. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus 1997-2000 and continued in the postgraduate performance class at the Royal Academy Of Music in London 2000-2002. In 2003 Andras was accepted on to the soloist course of The Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where he graduated with his debut concert in March 2006.
Today Andras works as a freelance musician throughout Europe but is very much involved in the music life in the Faroe Islands, as a performer, teacher and conductor. He has performed with Kluvers Big Band, Aarhus Sinfonietta, Athelas Sinfonietta, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble2000, Wallace Collection, Ensemble Modern Orchestra, Aarhus Symfoniorkester, Copenhagen Symphony Orchestra, Royal Danish Opera and others. Last summer Andras took part in Luzern Festival Academy under the direction of Pierre Boulez.
