In 1995 seven young Faroese musicians formed an ensemble with the main purpose to perform and promote Faroese music.
This ensemble is Aldubáran.
Today Aldubáran has 15 members playing the flute, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, guitar and piano.
This rather untraditional combination of instruments makes for great diversity in concerts and gives scope for composers.
Aldubáran has commissioned and premiered a vast number of works by Faroese and foreign composers which have been well received by the press and public.

- Aldubaran performed new work by Faroese composer Tróndur Bogason at the new festival FramRás
• Hanus G. 60 years »
- Aldubaran participated in the birthday concerts for Hanus G Johansen who turned 60 on the 18th of June. One concert in The Nordic House in Tórshavn and a large scale concert with a crowd about 1000 people in Hanus' birthtown Klaksvík.
• Spring Concert 2010 »
- Music by Faroese and French composers featured at this years Spring Concert at The Graphic Studio (Steinprent) in Tórshavn on the 20th May
